PPG coatings can be applied to all metals and some non-metallics such as composites, wood and some plastics. All coating applications require the surface be properly prepared to remove any oils and contaminants through processes such as grit-blasting and/or phosphating.

The techniques for applying PPG coatings depend on the shape and dimensions of the component, the number of components, the desired transfer efficiency, the application rate and the type of carrier used (water or solvent).

Base material underneath the coating:

  • Aluminum: Environmentally friendly, increased durability, fast completion
  • Iron: Durable, hard-wearing, withstand tough conditions
  • Steel: Excellent coverage capabilities, surface protection against environmental damage, corrosion resistance
  • Wood
  • Plastic
